Assembly House has a group of 18 studio holders who make up our lively and thriving artistic community. They are professional practitioners including educators, furniture makers, painters, sculptures, illustrators and more.

Our studio holders are part of key decision making at Assembly House, taking on some of the exhibition and event programming, as well as developing and maintaining the space, working behind the bar, taking part in local community activities and in every aspect of Assembly House.

Stay tuned for more information about each of our studio holders and to get an insight into their practice, see exmaples of their work and find out where you can see their work.

Renting a Studio

The studios are an open top design characterised by the victorian mill, with high ceilings and large working spaces. The studios are artist- co-originated between the studio holders themselves which makes them some of the most affordable in Leeds. Studio holders are provided with the basic shell and need to provide their own lighting. Support can be given to help install lighting and build the space into what you want. It's a considerate community that supports each other, open to artists and small business. The holders find it great for development.
