We recently said goodbye to some of the artists who've called Assembly House their home as they move on to new places and new adventures. It's sad to say goodbye but we're also excited to announce that this means we have 3 studio spaces available to welcome new artists to our community!
At Assembly House we have a commitment to supporting early career artists through affordable studio space, space to exhibit work and other opportunities. We are particularly looking for applications from artists who are at an early stage in their career and would really benefit from this support. We are also open to applications from artists in our local community - with an LS12 postcode.
As a studio holder at Assembly House you will also benefit from:
- onsite parking
- wood and canvas storage
- kitchen facilities
- use of the project space for exhibitions in our yearly programme as well as break out space for larger projects
- discounted space hire
- support from the organisations staff
- inclusion in projects lead by the organisation
- advocacy for your work, including art fairs, our online shop and features on our digital platforms
Take a look at the images and information below and then please complete this form to tell us a bit about yourself.
Please note we cannot currently offer studios to anyone whose practice is predominantly woodworking.
Assembly House operates similarly to a co-op and so we ask studio holders to contribute approximately 1 day per month in helping with the day-to-day running of the studios. This includes cleaning, painting, maintenance.
Assembly House is accessed by a staircase and has 2 small internal stairs once inside the venue. We regret that our space is not wheelchair accessible. Please contact us if there is anything we can do to support any other access needs.
DEADLINE TO APPLY IS MIDNIGHT ON SUNDAY 31 MAY
